Sunday April 29th 9PM no opening band. All ages $15 The Waiting Room
Please share this! One of the Midwest's greatest bar/party bands have returned! The band from KC that you either saw in 80's or 90's at The Howard Street Tavern, The Ranch Bowl, or venues deemed too seedy to mention here. They are back for more! If you are too young to remember the Rainmakers....just know that this band drove the touring scene in Lincoln and Omaha as well as much of the Mid-West. You will love this band!
Originally known at "Steve, Bob and Rich" to many here in town...their album "Balls" was popular among certain circles. In 1984 the band was signed by (Polygram...which we know as Geffen, DGC, Universal etc.) They hit number 87 on the Billboard Album charts with their 1986 debut album...an album that Newsweek called "the most auspicious debut album of the year,"....I wish I would have called a band that over my career.
Stephen King loved this band...and quoted the band's lyrics in his novels "The Tommyknockers" and "Gerald's Game". The band did huge in the UK hitting the Top 20 album chart and are still a touring force in Norway and beyond!
The band got back together in 2011...and they have been all over the world...but the most important thing is they are coming back to where they cut their teeth...where so many cut their teeth....and where you can get into the real music that they created...and cut some new teeth!
Watch the videos below...the band will hit the stage around 9PM with no opener after the early Chatham Country Line show put on by The Sunday Roadhouse at The Waiting Room. It is a must see for those that remember the days of singing along with a great band that wrote songs to sing along to...and those that need the experience of seeing a real rock & roll bar band is made of!
