Hello there,
This is a very exciting time for us as we are working with three new bands -- Pit er Pat, The Zincs and ADULT., and we are finally releasing the Looking for a Thrill DVD! Plus we have releases by respected artists, Sam Prekop, Archer Prewitt and Jeff Parker.
Just Out
Archer Prewitt
"His gentle voice sits amid occasionally baroque arrangements, the simplicity of which ensure his more complex songwriting skills remain accessible. Tinged with classic Chicago flavours -- much like a less precocious Plush or mellower Webb Brothers -- Wilderness also offers, in "Cheap Rhyme", a strikingly dramatic six minutes that demand repeated listening." -- Eden Parke, MOJO
Make sure to check out the upcoming Archer Prewitt tour dates below with Clem Snide and Marbles.
Jeff Parker
" On The Relatives, Parker's woody tone is refreshingly unprocessed, and his stark, angular lines provide a welcome alternative to the carefully manicured guitar timbres that too often characterize fusion, faux world music, and smooth jazz. . . Collectively improvised around spirited changes and riffs, the music is loose and fluid, yet tinged with a brooding, slightly manic energy." -- Andy Ellis, Guitar Player

Looking for a Thrill DVD
Directed by Braden King and edited by Ian Williams, the idea of Looking for a Thrill was conceived by Bettina Richards, owner of Thrill Jockey records. The DVD is a collection of personal stories about defining musical moments of inspiration (a record, a show, a concept, etc.). Contributors include Bjork, Mike Watt, Ian MacKaye, Jimmy Martin, Thurston Moore, Vic Chestnutt, Yo La Tengo, Tortoise, Steve Albini, Mouse on Mars, Jon Spencer and members of The Jesus Lizard, Boredoms, The Sea and Cake, Slint, Mekons, and Calexico, among others. All profits go to Greenpeace! This extremely important release for us that has been in the works for three years is finally out in March.
Pit er Pat
Pit er Pat release their first full-length release, Shakey, late March. For those of you that have not heard this three-some, they play drums, keyboards and bass, and sound a bit like The Raincoats. After playing to large crowds in Chicago, Pit er Pat are ready to embark on their first tour with Menomena in March! More tour dates to come as this ambitious band will be out and about as much as possible. Check out dates below.
Sam Prekop
Five years since the release of his last (and first) solo album, Sam Prekop has joined together with the same band in an effort to create an album that is equally revered, yet approached completely differently than the first. Who's Your New Professor is out late March. Tour dates will be confirmed soon. For all of you fans of The OC, keep your ears open to hear "Something" on the March 5th episode.

The Zincs
The Zincs are a new band from Chicago lead by an English guy, James Elkington, whose voice is remindful of Scott Walker or (smog). Elkington's vibrato-tinged, baritone vocals are backed by Nick Macri (Bobby Conn, Euphone) on bass, Jason Toth (Fruit Bats) on drums and Nathaniel Braddock on guitar. Make sure to check out The Zincs at Noise Pop where they'll be playing with Damon & Naomi and Vetiver, and SXSW where they'll be playing with Calexico and The Frames. US tour dates with Monade to come soon.
ADULT.
After distributing Ersatz music for several years, we are pleased to announce a release by our good friends ADULT. on Thrill Jockey Records! Have no fear as this is not the end of Ersatz Audio. This just allows them the much needed time to focus entirely on their music and touring.
D.U.M.E., ADULT.'s first release on Thrill Jockey, is a quick glimpse at the direction they'll be taking on their upcoming full-length this fall. All but one track are new and exclusive to this release. Tour dates for the release of this ep are below.
Still to come in 2005
