“OH MY GOD!” KAISER CHIEFS ARE AMAZING!
EMPLOYMENT, the debut album from Leeds’ KAISER CHIEFS is on its way! Produced by the celebrated Stephen Street (The Smiths, Blur), Employment is undoubtedly the most fun you’ll have in 2005. Wild-eyed yelping, layered “awws” and “la la las,” stage-diving insanity, and a whole lotta cowbell/tambourine and sophisticated melodies make Employment one of those albums that invades your brain with one listen.
If you missed their NYC and LA dates in January, DO NOT make the same mistake come February 12 (Brooklyn @ Northsix), February 14 (NYC @ Mercury Lounge), and March 21 (LA @ Troubadour).

THE KILLS ANNOUNCE LONG-AWAITED US TOUR
From March 21 to April 13, THE KILLS will traverse the states for a rare slew of live dates. Check out what Time Out New York had to say about THE KILLS live:
"Live, the Kills are simply stunning. Mosshart, wreathed in smoke, prowls the stage like a caged animal, while Hince tears away at his guitar as though trying to dismantle it. The effect is so raw and personal, you feel as if you've wandered into their bedroom."
Frill-free and fuzzed, NO WOW (Rough Trade/RCA; March 8) is teeming with some of the most alluring love-hate dichotomies ever put to tape. It gnaws at you in the best possible way, like an itchy sweater of libidinal bliss. Every time VV and Hotel hit a stage, they prove they’re the keepers of rock’s most commanding stage presence. You can’t look away, and something makes you feel like you probably shouldn’t be looking in the first place.

THE GO! TEAM STEPS UP TO THE PLATE
We are so in enamored by this bi-gender, multi-racial, party-starting UK act that we’re jumping the gun and telling you all about them before they’ve even had a chance to find a home here in the States. However, their irresistible import debut, titled THUNDER, LIGHTNING, STRIKE, is already making waves. (Luckily it’s available here via iTunes, so start saving up those winning Pepsi bottlecaps.)
In THE GO! TEAM you’ll hear the following glorious noises, in no particular order: ‘70s action TV show theme songs, old school breaks, double dutch chants, The Avalanches, the delectable hiss of a basement brand sound board, and Motown.
Pitchfork labeled THUNDER, LIGHTNING, STRIKE the #8 record in their Top 50 of 2004. Check the words: “…like kids going through their parent's terrible record collection and deciding to remake all of them at once. Each concoction ends up like a quick music history lesson beamed in over a transistor radio…”

For those of you in Los Angeles, you will have a rare opportunity to see them perform live at a showcase on February 22nd at Spaceland. They will not be returning to the states until some time around the May release of their CD! Look out for the full length, SKELETON JAR (out on epitaph May 24th) and their first single, “Shadowland.”<br>
