ok, so the 16 year old anger/angst ridden inner-teen-self got such a huge raging boner to see this show until I realized that Billy Corgan is the only original member of Smashing Pumpkins left. I mean, the number one asshole in a number of peoples books by way of a number of shitty things he's done, billy corgan is/has been the cleche ego-maniacal self-indulgent rock star that mainstream MTV created in the 90's. I mean hey....at least he didn't marry Courtney Love. (no disrespect to Nirvana intended, it's just so tragic all the death of not only 90's musicians, but young talented musicians from many decades [i.e. all the "age 27" coincidences, etc.])
So it really comes down to this...it really worth $50 to see Billy Corgan play Smashing Pumpkins songs with 3 complete strangers?
well...yeah, probably. my 16 year old self has to realize what the 30 year old jaded self has come to realize.....as one Mr. Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs so eloquently penned...."It's all about the Benjamins, baby".

$50 is cheap when you consider Smashing Pumpkins is an arena act (even with just Corgan). And we're getting them in club-sized venue.

It is? $50 is cheap? I've never paid more than $20 for a ticket to a concert/music festival. and is Smashing Pumpkins still an "arena band? granted, they USED to be....but not any more. like T Mac said, revitalized 90's love...not that it's a bad thing.
and didn't you see the part where I said I'd still probably be going?

Just saying. Had this show been at Qwest or whatever it's called now, it would have been the same price or more, but it would have been in an arena instead of a cozy club.

yeah, I'll agree with you there, I guess. Problem is, these days they wouldn't be able to fill even half of the Centruy Link Center...
