MARINA HARDY: viola, violin, cello, rhythm guitar, slide guitar, various percussion (cymbols/snare, wind chimes, shaker) accordion/squeeze box, piano, oboe, claranet, baritone, French horn, flugelhorn. alto/tenor sax. sarrausophone, cornet. tooba. banjo, recorded crows, tape noises, occasional singing, bow over bass strings. viberaphone. glass bottles and mallets. thumb piano. vacume. kazoo. leave noises. controlled bird noises.
Besides all of the many misspellings which is fine, I am not a great speller either. there are some things that are weird. Like "recorded crows" and "controlled bird noises", what the fuck does that mean? I am pretty sure they sounded like uncontrolled bird noises to me.
Also, it says "various percussion (cymbols/snare, wind chimes, shaker)" when there is obviously a full drum set on "spanish".
I could go on and on forever. But i give up, I am positive that these recordings arent hers. except the shitty ones, she can have those.
nobody has posted any proof that they are hers.

Wow, this girl is so full of shit it hurts.
As an engineer, I'm pretty sure she didn't record those songs that are on her myspace pages. That includes the lo-fi recordings.
As a classical musician, i know that mozart never wrote a clarinet sonata (as is the title of a piece on her myspace page) and that is not a clarinet in that recording.
Why can't it compare? A solo instrumentalist can be just as amazing as a group of musicians. Especially in a live setting. If Then she should have no trouble convincing people of that at a live performance.

I will give her that the "squeely" song maybe her trying to play violin or viola or something into her macbook.
but just cause its bad doesnt mean you can say its experimental and call it "art" cause it isnt, shes not doing anything except playing the instrument poorly.
whats the experiment? seeing if people will believe that you are a good musician by putting a bunch of old jazz recordings up and sprinkling a few shitty recordings in with it so you have an excuse to suck live?
also, I dont think she did those drawings on her art page, again, except the shitty ones (which arent really that bad but arent as technically good as the other ones)
if she doesn't show so proof of this being her actual music I am going to contact local show promoters and tell them not to book her.
or, she can delete all of the stuff that isnt her, and start trying to be an honest person and either learn how to play those instruments well, or learn how to write good songs. cause I dont think you need to be a great musician to write good music.

...and then laid down some of her own stuff with Ian Aeillo... I was told about this post by a friend. I have had five or six people ask me when/how/where I recorded her and just wanted to clear things up. Only once did I record her. Sometime this summer, upstairs in the C room, she played trombone for the flowers forever album. I did not record any solo anything. She's a nice girl and from what I hear a pretty good viola player. I do not know if that is her work or not. -Ian

i watched her attempt to play cello once. it wasn't pretty. she didn't hold the bow right, nor bow the instrument properly. it sounded like 20 cats fighting in an alley that was being napalmed. seriously.

Darren, I didn't mean for this to be such a bummer, I just don't like plagiarism. I just don't think it's fair to everyone that supports her if she is lying.
Sorry everyone for being a bummer.

Oh, and what is "A mac mic? is that the best you got?" supposed to mean on her "marina two" myspace?
That doesn't even make any sense. Haha. Funny stuff. I name a mic as a joke and she acts like that's a good defense for this whole post. ha.

Yeah, you can go ahead and lock the thread, I think most people are in agreement that those aren't her recordings.
